Terms of use

These terms cover three things:
- The Cliporium web service at cliporium.com, where you upload a long video and get short clips back.
- Cliporium for Windows, the desktop recorder.
- Cliporium’s posting service, the small server that lets the Windows app post to TikTok and Instagram on your behalf.
Using any of them means accepting these terms. If you use only one, only the sections about that one apply to you.
The web service
Your account
You need an account to upload anything. Give a working email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and old enough to hold accounts on any platform you go on to publish to.
Credits, plans and cancelling
Processing costs credits: one credit per clip produced. New accounts start with ten. If your balance is empty when a job runs, nothing is processed and nothing is spent - the upload is simply marked as having no credits.
Plans are Starter at £9.99, Pro at £24.99 and Ultimate at £69.99 per month, granting 50, 150 and 500 credits. They renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancelling ends the subscription and stops future charges. Credits already added to your balance stay there - they do not expire and are not taken back.
- Changing plan while you already have a subscription schedules the new plan for your next billing cycle rather than charging you again immediately. You can cancel a scheduled change before it takes effect.
Credits are a way of metering the service, not currency. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded for money. None of this affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
What you upload
Upload only video you have the right to upload, and publish only what you have the right to publish. Concretely: do not use Cliporium to process or publish other people’s copyrighted work, recordings of people who have not agreed to be recorded, private conversations you are not part of, or anything a platform you post to forbids.
Do not upload material that is unlawful, and do not use the service to try to break it, to get at other people’s files, or as general file storage. We can suspend an account that does.
Your clips are yours
Cliporium claims no rights over anything you upload or anything it produces from it. There is no watermark and there never will be. Nothing you upload is used to train any model, ours or anyone else’s. Your videos are processed on infrastructure we run and are never sent to a third-party AI provider. We look at your files only when you ask us to, and only as far as needed to sort out a problem you have raised.
Reel generation is the exception, and only if you use it. Writing a reel script is the one step we do not run ourselves: your brand profile is sent to Google’s Gemini API, on a tier whose terms allow Google to use that content to train its models and allow human reviewers to read it. Your uploaded videos are never part of that - only the text you typed into a brand profile, and the script that comes back. Privacy sets out exactly what is sent. If that is not acceptable, do not create a brand profile; the clip pipeline does not use it.
You grant us permission to store and process your video for the single purpose of producing clips for you and making them available in your account. That permission ends when the file is deleted.
Cliporium for Windows
A screen recorder that keeps the last few minutes of your game and saves a clip when you press a key. It runs on your PC. It does not inject anything into a game, and it does not upload anything unless you press Send.
Record what you have the right to record, and post what you have the right to post. Be aware of what a replay buffer captures - everything on the monitor, not just the game. That is described in full on the Privacy page.
When you post through Cliporium to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, that platform’s own rules apply to what you posted, in full, exactly as if you had uploaded it there yourself.
Do not attempt to use the posting service for anything other than posting your own clips from Cliporium: no bulk automation, no posting on behalf of accounts that are not yours, no using it as a general file host. The service rate-limits each installation and can block one that abuses it.
What we do with your data
Privacy is the answer, in detail. In summary:
- The web service holds an account for you - your email address and a hashed password - stores the videos you upload and the clips made from them, and keeps the billing identifiers Stripe needs. Your video is processed on infrastructure we run, not by a third-party AI provider. Reel generation is the one exception: a brand profile is sent to Google to write the script, and only if you use that feature.
- The Windows app keeps everything on your PC.
- The posting service holds the tokens for an account you connected, the clip you are sending for the minutes it takes, and a record of the send for seven days.
There is no advertising, no analytics profile, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone beyond the providers listed on the Privacy page and the platform you chose to post to.
Removing your data
Deleting your data covers this properly. In short: for the web service, delete your account yourself from Settings → Delete your account, which cancels any active subscription, removes every upload and clip from storage, and takes effect immediately. For the Windows app, delete the two folders on your PC. For the posting service, remove the connection in Settings → Sharing, which deletes the tokens and tells the platform to revoke them.
Availability, and the honest part
The web service and the posting service are offered as-is. They may be unavailable, and they may be withdrawn. If the posting service is withdrawn, the Windows app keeps working: recording, clipping, editing, exporting and posting to YouTube all happen on your PC and need no server of ours. TikTok and Instagram would stop being offered, and you would export the file and post it yourself.
If the web service is withdrawn, we will give reasonable notice so you can download your clips first, and we will not bill you for a month you cannot use.
Nothing here is a promise that the software is free of defects. It is a recorder that runs beside games and a pipeline that processes large video files; it is tested before each release ships, but it is not tested against every game, driver, codec and machine that exists. Keep your own copies of anything you would be upset to lose.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Cliporium is provided without warranty, and its authors are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the release notes will say so, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Cliporium after that means accepting the revised terms.
