Uploading a video

How to get a long-form video into Cliporium, and the options you set before it's processed.

Upload a file

Drag and drop an MP4, or choose one, from the Upload tab. Files up to 2GB are accepted, one at a time. Uploading carries on in the background - you can keep using the rest of Cliporium while it finishes, just don't close the tab or refresh until it has.

If your video is already hosted somewhere, paste a link rather than downloading and re-uploading it. The video is fetched first, then clipped - its progress shows the same way an upload's does. Nothing is charged if the link can't be fetched.

Links must point to a video you have the rights to clip. YouTube links aren't supported: if the video is on YouTube, upload your original file of it instead.

Captions

Burned into every clip, timed to each spoken word, on by default. Choose a font, a style (classic, karaoke, highlighted word, and more), a colour, and where on the clip they sit - a live preview shows exactly how they'll look before you upload. Turn them off for clean footage with nothing over it, which is worth doing if the platform you're posting to adds its own captions.

Choosing how many clips

You choose how many clips to ask for, up to 10 per video - Cliporium suggests a number based on the video's length. This is a ceiling, not a promise: a video with fewer good moments makes fewer clips, and you are only charged for the ones actually made. See Credits.

Once a video has been clipped, you can ask Cliporium to find more from the same upload - it picks up from where it left off rather than repeating clips you already have.
